LetsChatYour choice to use Kai
Kai runs on trusted third party AI services. When you talk to Kai, what you share with Kai (your name, messages, voice, photos, files, the recent chat in a room or game she is in and, for Astro, your birth details) is sent to these services in a secure environment to create Kai's replies. Kai also remembers a few things you tell her about yourself, like what to call you, where you live or work, family you name, what you like and plans you mention, and you can see or clear them in Settings, Kai, What Kai remembers. You can turn this off any time in Settings.
Gemini replies. Google receives your first name, your message and recent Kai chat to write replies. In rooms, this includes the room title and recent chat with display names. At game tables, it includes the game state and chat. Room and table context includes only people who accepted Kai consent.
When needed for your request, Google also receives what Kai remembers about you, text from files you send, search results, page text, job listings, resume details, and your Astro birth details and chart.
Photos and picture making. Gemini receives a photo you ask Kai to look at, along with the reply context. For Stories, it receives the draft and thumbnail. To make a picture or video preview still, it receives a description written from your words. To edit your photo, it receives the photo too.
Safety checks. Gemini checks Echoes, stories and room messages. It receives captions and text, a background photo or selected video frames. These safety requests do not send Echo audio, a name or an account ID. For Kai videos, Google checks selected video frames, the preview still and any face photo you supplied. Possible violations are flagged for human review.
Sarvam AI
Backup replies. If Google cannot provide a reply, Sarvam AI may write it instead. It receives the same reply context described in the Google section.
Speech to text. Saaras turns voice notes to Kai and Kai Astro, and story voice prompts, into text. It receives the recording, its file name from your phone and a language code. In Talk Mode it receives live microphone audio. When Kai answers a call, it receives the caller’s audio after the caller has heard that the call is recorded.
Kai’s voice. Bulbul receives the words Kai says, which can include your name and what you said, plus the voice, pace and language. Sarvam AI also receives sentences from Kai’s reply to rewrite Hindi typed in English letters into Devanagari for pronunciation.
Video sound checks. When a video service makes sound for a Kai video, its generated audio is sent to Sarvam AI to turn into text for safety checks.
fal.ai
Pictures. FLUX receives a picture description to make a Kai video preview still. FLUX Kontext receives your photo, which may be your profile photo, and a description when you ask to put your face in a picture or video still.
Videos. The services are PixVerse, LTX by Lightricks, Kling and Seedance by ByteDance. They receive the scene description Kai writes from your idea and the still you approved. The still may show your face.
Music. Lyria, MiniMax Music and ACE-Step make a new track for Kai Sounds or a Kai video when no library track fits. They receive a short brief based on the mood you typed or the video idea.
BytePlus ModelArk
Dreamina Seedance is a second provider for Kai videos. It receives the scene description and the still used as the first frame.
Brave Search
Brave Search helps Kai search the web, find jobs and job alerts, check business ideas and prepare market briefs. It receives search words with contact details removed and the country, India. For job searches, the words can include the role, skills, city and experience you gave. For market briefs, they can include a company name and a request for its share price today.
Adzuna
Adzuna provides more job listings. It receives the job you asked for and the city.
Open-Meteo
Open-Meteo provides weather answers and helps find your birthplace for Kai Astro. It receives a city name from your message or the birthplace you typed or said.
Public facts
Frankfurter supplies exchange rates and receives currency codes. dictionaryapi.dev supplies definitions and receives the word. Nager.Date supplies holidays and receives a country and year. The India Post PIN code API receives a PIN code or post office name. Google’s public holiday calendar is read without sending personal details.
A web page you ask Kai to read
Our server opens the page you name, or a result page for a business idea check. It makes a request for that web address. No personal details are sent.
Kai Astro and files
For Kai Astro, the chart is worked out on our own server. Your birth details and chart go to the reply service above only to write your reading.
For files you send Kai, only the text read from the file is sent. The file stays with us.
Safety checks
We use automated safety checks, including trusted outside services, on what is shared on LetsChat. These checks do not depend on your consent to use Kai. Kai flags possible violations for human review.

When Kai answers a call for someone, the call is recorded and the caller is told first.
